The Focus Show in Review

focus-showopens-today.jpg
The Focus Show by all accounts was a success. I can say that with confidence. The main goal of the show was to bring together skateboarding in the North East without all the other crap that is usually grouped in at other trade shows. Unlike the glam Orlando County Arena that hosts Surf Expo, the "Arena" that hosted the TFS was a gritty stripped down hall that still had some championship title banners from the previous Extreme Wrestling events gone by. All of the booth space was filled with either tables from small board companies or pop up tents from national giants. The guys from The Inspire Clothing Trend had a keg of Miller Light and Berentza gave out free shots of social lubrication.

Its hard to say who benefited the most from attending the show. After all, the local and small venders garnered good exposure, the shop owners got to see some of the people on the other end of the phone in person for the first time, and the large companies like Bones, addidas, World, and LRG showed to share some brotherly love. I met some great people and some, interesting, motivated, young companies, like Voyage, Keystone,Skatelamps, and Vengeance to name drop a few. Look for some give aways and product reviews in the future from these and some others here on Interstatemag.

The Mini Ramp Contest was a riot on wheels as shops entered two riders each in one of four heats to battle for cash. In the end Leo Heinert won, Chris Dezimas of NJ Skateshop took second and Kyle Nicholson got third.

The high Ollie winner was Luis Tolentino won the High Ollie Contest at 41″ congrats.

The Premier for Focus Mag's "Stay Focused" was moved from the Arena to the North Bowl Party due to technical problems. Five cities are featured Philly, Baltimore, Boston, Orlando, New York and DC in the 19 min short but sweet edit. Look for the video to be distributed free in an upcoming issue of Focus Mag and to be free as a download on the Focus web site. In paticular a great job was done on the Florida section filming as well as for the editing on the entire project.

The brother hood on the East Coast is stronger than ever. Thanks to Focus and all who came to support skateboarding!

Zoo York 'State Of Mind' Video Review!

state%20of%20mind.jpg

So last night was the Baltimore premiere of the Zoo York video. It was held at the Senator theatre and I must say that I have been anticipating this video for a few years now. So I got to the theatre, hung out for a bit waiting for it to start and then got myself an ice cold bud and sat down to watch some great skateboarding.

The intro alone was enough to get me excited.True east coast skateboarding at its best and just the editing was all put together soo good. Brandon Westgate opens the video with my favorite part. He kills it like no one else. Soo much pop and style its like hes a vetern pro(keep in mind he just turned pro). He lipslid the pyramid ledges from the bottom and did a bs 50-50 up a popular hubba in NYC. He also throws down one of the best hardflips into a well known ditch-Amazing Pro debut opener. Matt Miller comes through with everything you would expect from this man am. Can you say hardflip bs noseblunt, yeah Matt's got em. Chaz Ortiz shows that he's got more to offer than killing skate contests. He gets tech on some big rails, throughs down some sick lines, and has an all around solid part.

Donny Barley skates fast and makes you feal like your watching a new eastern exposure video. His part definitly makes you wanna go downtown and just skate. Ron Deiley had a sick and creative part. Skating spots deferently then most and doing tricks I have never seen like a switch blunt to front nose and his nollie back heel ender is amazing. Kevin Taylors part is short an sweet. Ansd its always good to see new amazing footy of Kevin. Anthony Shetler. He just kills it throughout his part, and has a really sick ender.

Can't forget about Forrest Kirby. He does some the most difficult manuals, long crooks to feeble,180 nosegrind revert and the ghetto banks in Miami. Remember his transworld cover with that crazy pivot to fakie, yeah that's in there too. Forrest does not dissapoint. Lamare Hemmings has good, clean style, great tricks. He does a crooked grind you have to see to believe. Aaron Suski comes through with some true east coast ripping. One of my favorites to watch, always entertaining and he definitly throws down one of the biggest ollies in the video. Eli Reed has my second favorite part. He skates switch just as good as he does regular and have you ever seen a switch big flip to manual....after watching Eli you will have. His switch 50-50 on that double kinked hubba is insane and his switch flip ender may be the best switch flip I've ever seen. Then finally you have Zered Bassett who you know is gonna have an epic part and that he does.He goes through two songs in this amazing ender part and does some of the most rediculous tricks. He slappy 50-50s a gnarly handrail and then if thats not enough he does it switch.I dont wanna give away too much of his part but let me just say if you have seen the new thrasher then you have already seen his ender and yes it is epic.

This video is soo far the best video of 09' and its gonna be tough for anyone to top it. Great music, great skateboarding, great editing, and just a raw skate video that makes you wanna skate. They also have a little friends section at the end of the video that has some sick footy and if that's not enough there's plenty of bonus footy for you to enjoy. Go pick up a copy as soon as you can, you wont be dissapointed!

The Alien Workshop Premiere Was Amazing!!

Mind-Feild_Senator_intyerstate.jpg

So the Alien Workshop premiere was tonight at The Senator in Baltimore and I must say that the anticipation was going on all day long. I got to the premiere about an hour before it started and I got to say that the Senator is and a great place to have a video premiere. The turnout was great tonight. There were people I havent seen in awhile and people repping shops from all over the area.So I took my seat and got ready for the video.

The video had an amazing intro like many other Workshop/Habitat videos. There was a great intro featuring J Mascis of Dinosaur JR to the first part which goes to Omar Salazar. Omar kills it, skating big rails, skating faster then anyone else out there and doing some of the most creative tricks ive ever seen-GREAT PART. Next is Jake Johnson who skates better than most veteren pros out there. His wallrides are amazing-regular and switch and his ender is no joke. Then Arto comes through and does not disappoint.

Big rails, great tre flips into gnarly ditches and he has one of the sickest nose picks ever. Dylan Reider is good at skateboarding and has a great part as well, Rob Dyrdek comes through with a short but sweet part and he proves that hes still got it. Berra can do no wrong in my eyes. Great style, great tricks and sooooo smooth. Then its Josh Kalis(one of my most anticipated parts) who does tricks I've never seen before, still has the best 360 flip, and shuts down the pyramid ledges in NYC with a solid banger. His song was sick too. Grant Taylor as of right now has my favorite part. He skates fast and has a good bag of tricks. He can skate anything in front of him and I hav'nt seen a lot from him in the past so I was suprised and after seeing his ender I was convinced.

I love Jason Dill. Seriously i love the way he skates, he just flows and does alot of creative tricks and just dosent care about anything and hes always enjoyable to watch. Tyler Bledsoe may be the next Koston with this part. Clean tricks, really hard tricks, and never before done tricks. He's incredible.

Mike Taylor rips it and has a healthy amount of footage that is all killer no filler. AVE is amazing and can still do amazing switch tres. Great pop and he skates switch just as good as he does regular. He does one of the best tricks in the video. Last is Heath Kirchart and you know this part won't dissapoint. Heath is amazing and so gnarly. He kills everything with style, power, and grace. He skates to Morrisey and he has an ender ender........wait for it SOOOOOOO Good.

The premiere was a huge success and its good that were able to have these premieres and have a great time. Thanks to the Senator and all the shops who sponsored the event. The video is out now so go pick up a copy as soon as you can.

Photo album from the premiere up soon!

Alien WorkShop's Mind Field

mindfield_premiere.jpg

I know the Big Premiere for Alien Worhshop's Mind Feild was last week. AWS is already the most anticipated video in years and is thought it might be the best video in years. For those of you who are lucky enough to live close a city that is hosting one of the many local Premieres the wait is almost over. For me it is less than 8 hrs for the Fed Ex man to deliver a copy to me for a pre premiere viewing.

Don’t be a troll under a bridge some where. If you got gas money and a car check this list to see if you can make it to one of these viewings. A three hour drive to one of them will be worth it!

Osiris Children of the Revelution

Osiris_ChildrenOfTheRevolution.jpg

Children Of The Revolution is a skateboarding film that features the Osiris Kids team, which is a great skate film and also a coming of age story for the riders, as they raised the level of their skating to new highs, every time the cameras came out.

Aside from the 30-minute main feature, this disc also contains over 90 minutes of bonus footage from the various skate trips and shoot locations, the kids traveled to Woodward West, San Francisco and numerous locations in Southern California.

Also featured in the bonus footage is a trip to the San Juan Bosco boys orphanage in Tecate, Mexico where the kids helped put together skateboards for 40 orphans and then showed them how to ride. Paul Schmitt from Create a Skate was on hand the more technical aspects of skateboard design and components. It’s a story about helping others and giving back.

Children of the Revelution is can be purchased for $9.99 here.

Video Throwback: THE END (1998) by Birdhouse

By Ian Michna

Birdhouse Still

The End by Birdhouse features everything that you are interested in. Pornstars, fireworks, exploding cars, foodfights, and of course; amazing skateboarding all filmed on 16 and 35mm film footage. While older videos have outdated selections of tricks and grainy fisheye footage, The End refuses to be caught in the aging process. The video starts out with super solid parts from Willy Santos, Andrew Reynolds (pre boss status) and Steve Berra. While these skaters set the scene for a great skate video, it’s the next half of the video that makes The End truly memorable. Busting through gates and destroying everything in sight, Heath and Jeremy set the tempo and flavor for what is to come. The opening sound effects of the song Superbeast by Rob Zombie accommodate the pre- jackass type antics perfectly.

Jeremy Klein starts it off with a huge nosestall on top of a wall, followed by Heath lipsliding El Toro. Pure bangers. After the initial destruction, Heath and Jeremy continue to steal every teenagers dream, acting as millionaires in a luxurious montage. While some people would say the big budget movie style takes away from the film, I say, it’s what makes it. If you want full back to back skate carnage, go rewatch Misled Youth. While the shots in the mansion become old after multiple watches, it’s hard not to smile watching Heath and Jeremy bathe in 100 dollar bills, liquor and hot maids. Jump to their final montage, and arguably, the most memorable scene in The End. Everyone has seen 50-50s and Boardslides on every style rail and ledge, but who can say they grinded the top of a bus station? Dressed in full suits, Heath and Jeremy jump off a portable kicker to grind huge store signs, power boxes and even gas station pumps. The drops are huge, and the tricks are solid. The part ends with heavy drinking followed by grinding a shed before it completely blows up. It seems like 1998 was a good year to be on Birdhouse.

Next, Birdman steps it up and gives the video what it needs ; some quality vert. The super slow-mo footage lets you watch every twist and turn that made him #1 at the time. Although he never lands the 900 in the video, there are great shots of the loop and ridiculous footage shot in a bullring in mexico. Bucky technically has the ender, but his part is not nearly as long or dramatic as Hawks is. I love Bucky, but at this time, Hawk was stealing all the light ( as the plot in the film is).

The End is one of the 90’s skate classics, next to Misled Youth, Fulfill The Dream, Jump Of A Building and many more. It captures the time where Tony Hawk was about to release his video games, and skateboarding was steadily rising to mainstream. If you are looking for a more adventurous, big budget movie that you can get hyped to skate on, The End is for you.

Dank 2 Premiere

Words and Photo by David Stuck

RyanBoblits_Dank2Premiere_CharlesTheatre_Dec18_2008.jpg

Dank? What is Dank??? Dank 2 is the title of a Baltimore skate video that was created by Chad Butler & Dan Corrigan and first released in 2006. It was a fun video made with mainly filler tricks, all filmed for the fun of skating! It was a pretty big hit, I have to admit I watched it like a broken record for 3 hours straight one day (and selfishly counted how many times I was lurking in the video - 56 times).

Since the release of Dank(#1) in 2006, Dan and Chad have been on a mission to make another fun Dank video - with better tricks, a wider variety of skaters from Baltimore/East Coast, and to hype everyone up on how fun skating is! The outcome is Dank II, and it premiered tonight at the Charles Theatre in Baltimore. I'd say it was a huge success, easily over 200 people showed and it seemed everyone was stoked on the video!

I was honored to be the announcer to begin Chad's part (you'll have to see the video to understand it). Chad had the first part, along with an amazing song which I've never heard before - but it's just as good as his part! Not sure what order the next skater's have, but I'll throw out some names of people who were in the video; Gary Smith, Alex Johns, Josh Schlappich, Dave Morris, Tm Schlappich, Steve Batton, Sean Georguire, Ryan Boblits, Tyrone Henderson, Kevin Fox, Zach Lyons, Sam Heird, Adam Sweitzer, and Jason Spivey.

Dan Corrigan had a 7 minute last part, definitely deserved every second of it!
If your down with skating, good editing, Baltimore/East Coast, or looking at me lurk around in the background of clips - then you have to see this movie!

Plan B Superfuture Promo

When I think of Plan B, I think of hype. Super this, Mega that, and “the legacy” to preserve. Besides the played-out song selection, Superfuture was a great promo that got me psyched on the next Plan B video ; which is wonderful because I only have to wait till 2010 for it. Seriously. 2010. Regardless, you can’t knock on new fresh footage from Decenzo, Way, Wenning, Rogers, Ladd, Gallant, Duffy, Mckay, Rodriguez and of course Sheckler. I don’t have to tell you how talented everyone is on the team, each skater bringing his specialty to the Plan B table.

Scott Decenzo starts out the promo with some solid footage, throwing down a half cab noseslide to nollie flip out. I didn’t think his tricks had much unique style or personality, but there’s no denying he can produce some quality footage. The juggernaut Danny Way comes in next and does not fail to disappoint. Megaramp fan or not, you cannot deny how ridiculous all of his tricks are, in difficulty and risk factor. Continuing to push the Vert envelope farther and farther, Danny Way throws down Backflip Rocket Airs and 360 flip manuals over the Megaramp. The pool footage was a highlight, Way doing raw tricks out of the pool such as frontside heelflip sans grab. PJ Ladds footage was refreshing, skating lines in Boston bringing us back to Ladds Wonderful Horrible Life era. There’s no need for me to comment on Gallant Mckay and Rodriguez. All super respected skaters with mind-blowing footage. Fast forward to one of the most controversial figures of skateboarding; Ryan Sheckler. Look past his lame intro footage, whiny personality and lack of switch tricks. He goes big, and he does it with such consistency and bolts that it’s almost comical to watch. His ender is like a mini leap of faith, throwing a kickflip down the gap as if it were as easy as an ollie down a 5 stair. Overall, take 14 minutes out of your day and peep the promo. Believe the hype.

OSIRIS: Feed the Need

rattray-osiris%20for%20interstate.jpg

The new Osiris video is packed with some really good skateboarding and its another free video. Lots of skate videos come out every year and there's usually some anticipation but with this video it was different because I did'nt even know osiris was coming out with a video until a few months ago.

With an almost entire new team since there last video "Subject To Change", everyone comes through with good parts.

Garrett Hill is soo gnarly and soo smooth. He does a perfect switch lazer flip,360 flip 50-50 on hubba, and his kickflip 50-50 in the end makes his part a standout for sure. James Brockmans part is short but good, PLG and Gailea Momolu share a part that is really good. PLG throws down a bigspin flip back lip and a 360 flip board and Gailea switch noseblunts a rail and ends it with a giant switch varial heel.
Marius Syvanen has my favorite part. Good song, good tricks, good style and his nollie back heel in the end seals the deal. Jimmy Carlin does a nollie double heel down a 10 and skates to safety dance, Diego is a skate machine with solid tricks an one of the best switch bigspins in the biz. Shuriken Shannon was one of my favorites with his pop and finese. This part really shows why he just went pro and why he definitly deserves it.

Stu Graham is quick with tranny and charges everything he skates. Check out his trick in a kilt, yeah hes a true Scottish ripper. Clint Peterson and new comer John Lupfer share a part. Clint does everything with style. He does a 360 flip tailgrab and does it good. John Lupfer is as clean as they come. Curved back smith kickflip out and his nollie inward heel many is at a spot you may have seen before, its sick.

Caswell Berry is really good and really stylish. Corey Duffell has a really good part. This is his best in my opinion. Tall kickflip feeble, fs half cab flip a street gap, crazy boardslide pop over and a huge fs 180 to end it. Last but not least is Mr Rattray who kills it with his speed and creativity. I seriously love his part and his ender is one of the craziest 50-50s I've ever seen.

So if you get the chance get a copy and watch it before you skate because it will definitly get you pumped and like I said its free so why not.

eS Footwear: eSPECIAL

es%20for%20interstate.gif

This is the new full length from eS and its pretty good and hey its free. The intro to the video is really creative and rad the way it was put together.

Silas Baxter Neal has the intro and his part is good. The dude is a machine, skates anyhting in front of him.I like his habitat part better but seriosly anything from this guy is good.Javier Sarmiento comes through with a long overdue part.Hes soo smooth and solid. He chooses some pretty difficult tricks to do-SWITCH 360 FLIP 5-0 DOWN A SEMI HUBBA.

Someone hook this guy up with a board sponsor.Nyjah is sooo good but i think everyone knows that by now.Tripple set heelflip, nosgrind nollie heel on an up ledge, nollie tre off a well known bump, and his line in the end is too good. There's a really good friends section with footy from mike barker, kelly hart, joey pepper and more and that includes an inward heel 5-0 down hubba(no its not weiger).Bobby Worrest has my favorite part for sure.

This is like his 4th part(GIVE OR TAKE) this year and its probally the best hes ever put out.Nollie heel back lip pop out in a line, switch back lip flushing meadows ledge, and he does yet another amazing trick down gold rail-just watch and see.

Cale Nuske is sick to watch.Chill style and really clean. His nollie heel crooks in the end was sick.Raymond Mollinar only has a few tricks but there all really good.

Danny Garcia is soo good and has soo much style i seriously cant get enough of this guy.PJ Ladd's part is short but sweet. He does a nollie full cab to switch bs noseblunt in a line and his fakie big spin heel in the end is perfect.

Justin Eldridge kills it with everything from a really long switch fs board, nollie heel nosegrind,a nollie nosegrind tail grab(WHAT?),switch heel blunt down a rail, and he ends it with a switch heel fs lip on a well known and now extinct rail-AMAZING.Rodrigo TX has a really good part.he does a switch hard flip bs tail in a line and does some of the sickest tricks he can think of.hes got soo much skill and soo much finese on a skateboard.Rick McCrank ends it with some amazing skateboarding.Rick is awesome and he starts his part with the longest nollie 180 to switch crooks ever done. His wallride nollie bs flip out is sick,he does a really good fs 270 flip over a hip and his polejam big spin out in the end seals the deal for his well deserved ender. After that the video is not over because theres some realy sick stuff in the credits.Lots of almost makes, slams, and everything you would expect from a skate video.Raymond Mollinar can switch flip bs tail and you have to see Justin Eldridge almost nollie nose the hollywood bowl hubba(The one koston noseslide in the first eS video-menikmati).If you want more after the video is over, dont worry because theres lots of bonus features and almost enough to make another video in itself. So check out the new eS video and see why WITHOUT KOSTON THEY STILL HAVE A GREAT TEAM.

The 1st Birdhouse Video in almost a decade!

birdhouse_biginning.jpg

The new Birdhouse video "The Beginning" is out now! It's hard to believe it's been nearly ten years since Bucky put on his "Im the Shit" T shirt and blew up a mexican coliseum.

Wow how time flys. I love "The End" it was an amazing film. I say film because they shot it entirely on 35mm film. It looked great and was edited beautifully, soundtrack was great (except for the department store releases, where they had to change the music to songs they could actually get the rights to).

Everything was perfect including the pornstars. Yeah Heath and Jeremy's part had Heather Hunter, Janine, Kobei Tai and couple more waiting on them hand and foot. Great concept. "The End" directors cut was innovative and amazing.

But its 2007, Bucky's flown the coop, Heath is on Workshop - so out with the old and in with the new, Birdhouse "The Beginning" is short a Ragdoll, so if he's your cup of t you'll be bummed.

But I got the scoop from my homeboy Markovich "Rags is on Crimson"! But have no fear one of the best skateboarder's in the world (and Interstate#5 alumni) Shaun Gregoire has some footy! Jeremy Klein, Willy Santos, Brian Sumner, and their new crew (Matt Ball, Steve Nesser) have put together an excellent video. Oh yeah don't count out the Birdman, you know he's always worth peeping! Im sure some giant vert ramp in the desert, you know how he rolls!

Classic Review: Shorty' s - Fulfill The Dream

So I've been skating for almost 11 years now and yes it's pretty hard to believe, but I remember so much of the early years and just the feeling of learning sooo many new tricks was amazing to me.

I remember when I first got into watching skate videos, it was around '97 and the first video I saw was 411 issue 19 and I couldn't believe some of the stuff they were doing and ever since then I always wanted to see the latest and greatest skate video to come out.

Around 1998 Shorty's was the best. It was everyone's favorite company and their team at the time was amazing. I remember this video being the first video I really anticipated seeing.

Fulfill The Dream was released in 1998 and as soon as i saw it i couldent believe it.

The video was sooo far ahead of its time and at the time this is what i wanted my skating to look like.Almost 10 years later this video still remains my favorite of all time. Now that is a pretty bold statement, but seriously if this video was released today, people would still be saying how amazing it is.The video starts out with Steve Olson who was my favorite skaters in 98 and the way he would skate anything and have the most bizarre yet sick style was mindblowing to me.He kills it and his kickflip fs board shove in the end still to this day stands out to me.Aaron Snyder has a great part and just skates soo tech and with soo much style, everything is flawless that he does and he was definitly the first person to do a fakie 5-0 fakie tre flip and still does it the best.

Toan Nguyen was good and he did some pretty crazy tricks in his time.really good lines and his ender was a big staple for that spot at the time.

Sammy Baptista blew my mind when i first saw his part.I couldent believe that anyone could skate switch so good and have soo much skill being such a little guy,it was just crazy to me and still is to this day.Jesse Silvey was good and definitly fit well with the team, havent seen anything from him in awile but im sure hes still shreddin somewhere.Brandon Turner's part was another groundbreaker and he has always and still does own the switch hardflip. He was soo little in this this video and his skill was soo ahead of his time.Peter Smolik is fun to watch and its still hard to understand some of the tricks he did in this video,he was the full package he could skate gaps, rails, ledges, and he always looked like he was having fun on a skateboard and thats why peter is still amazing to this day.Now last part is someone who alot of kids nowadays have no idea what he did for skateboarding.Well during this time Chad Muska was the Paul Rodriguez of today. His part is still as crazy today as it was almost 10 years ago.He skated some of the biggest rails and did some of the sickest shit on a skateboard.I mean if you havent seen this part before go to youtube or find a way to watch it because it is soo amazing and it still stands out of all the videos ive seen over the years.

This video is a classic today and with 2008 upon us i thought it would be a good idea to share one of the best videos of all time in its almost 10 year anniversary.Shortys may not be the hottest today but 10 years ago-SHORTYS WAS THE SHIT-and there was no denying it.So if you get the chance go buy this video on ebay or anywhere you can find it because i think everyone(no matter what age)should own this video.

When World Ruled the World

world_logo.gif

There once was a day when World Industries wasn't sold at Dicks Sporting Goods, they had the best pros on the planet, they were way ahead of their time, and they made videos that could'nt be touched.

Well for years YouTube has been scowered for any clips from the amazing videos put out by World. Lucky for us (The excited sheep I mean Holiday shoppers) they are available on DVD! The great Rubbish Heap (an unlikely classic), then the short but inspiring Two World Industries Men (featuring Randy Colvin one of the only pros ever to push mongo!).

Hard to believe but the third release from World Love Child came out in 1992. Most of the skating in that video still holds up. The soundtrack, the editing was clean, that video is amazing! New World Order is probably one of my least favorite. In 1993 things were kinda gangster in skateboarding, alot of negativity, and its kind of reflected in this video. 20 Shot, well things were still kind of gangster, its still a good video just because the skateboarding cant be denied.

This one will make you miss Kareem Campbell, that guy was so good. I met him and Jason Lee when they came to Baltimore, we skated a parking garage and Jason Lee gave me his pants. Yeah. They were definitely cool. Jason Lee and Kareem and the pants too. Oh yeah, Ronnie Creager is and forever will be the shit. That guy has more talent then my mom, I guess thats a given, but I could watch his 20 Shot part all day! Trilogy is good but its no 20 Shot. They are all worth owning!

World%20Videos.bmp

I havent seen the bonus features yet but they sound great! Buy it its worth the $39.99. That's a small price to pay for such rich skateboard history!

Habitat Skateboards:Inhabitants

post_habitat_dvd.jpg
Well this is the new habitat video and ive been anticapating this video for awile and its definitly the best video ive seen so far this year. After the intro alone you know the video is gonna be good and also its a habitat video, anything these guys put out is always good.Since there last video(MOSAIC) the team has added some new guys, lost a few(Wenning),but still has one of the most solid teams in skateboarding today.

Silas Baxter Neal opens it up with an amazing debut part.Everything from his crazy wallrides, his backside noseblunt on the pyramid ledges in NYC,crooks up to bs tail down a ledge,or his cab to back lip on a famous Texas rail, hes just got it.Danny Garcia comes through with a really good part and a really good song.He is soo tech but makes it look so easy and soo smooth. His switch flips are soo good and he does a really good nose manny up nollie flip manny down on a sick spot.

Fred Gall starts off his part by blowing up a world of shit-watch to see.Hes the OG habitat rider and he still kills it.Skates to black sabbath and skates some of the sickest spots. His part is an instant classic like all of his others.Guru Khalsa has soo much skill.Fakie bs tails a really tight spot, nollie crooks a known rail in the ATL,and ends it with a switch bs 180 into a ditch that he previously kickfliped-well done.Austyn Gillette is one of the newest habitat riders and hes a great addition to the team.

He just flows and does great lines.hes got a great bs flip and he does a switch biggie down a very popular triple.Tim O Connor and Ed Selego share a part and they both kill it.Tim does tricks that noone else does really good.Hes exciting to watch and he really stepped it up in this part.Cab flip over a new jersey hip and check his fs air-WOW.

Ed skates powerful and stylish. He does a straight up nollie over a bump to rail, really good selection of tricks and his fs 180 fakie 5-0 at the end is amazing.Steve Durante has one of my favorite parts.Hes skates like wenning and does some pretty amazing tricks on a skateboard.Switch heel blunt in a line, switch bs lip fs 270 out, great pop out tricks, and his switch fs heel at the end is crazy.

Kerry Getz starts it off with some sick mini ramp skating and then starts his regular part which is not a dissapointment at all.Kerrys always been good and he always steps it up with his really quick lines, doubles flips,a really good 360 flip over a bump to rail and his line in the end is really crazy.Raymond Mollinar is good and everyone knows it.Switch crooks fakie flip pop over-WHAT.And his fakie fs nose switch bs flip out is perfect. He does alot of hard tricks and makes them look easy.

Finally its Stefan Janoski's part and he deserves last part without a doubt.Love his style and his song is really good for his part.Hes so casual and so tech and sometimes seems too good.He does a 360 flip on a really steep bank, switch flip gap to bs lip, switch heel bs wallride, fakie tre flip back lip in a line.Everything he does is good and hes definitly in my top 10 skaters of all time.

This video is amazing and i would suggest to anyone to go out and get it as soon as you can because its the best video of 2007 so far(i havent seen static 3 or fully flarred yet).GOOD JOB HABITAT

411: Comin In Hot

comin%20in%20hot%20cover%20for%20interstate.jpg

The new 411 is free and packed with some really good skating. The openers alone are enough to get you syched.Dallas Rockvam does a pretty crazy ollie that the filmer cant keep up with and dom johnson kickflip front 5-0s a well known monsterous hubba, but onto the issue itself.

The first section is a chaos section with M.I.A. skateshop and joel meinholz starts it off with some good footy including a kickflip wallride on a glass window.Theres also footy from forest kirby, jahmal williams(hes still got it),paul deoliveira, and many others.Ed Selego ends it with some solid skating.

Tommy Fynn comes up with a groundbreaking part filled with nollie heel crooks, steep kickflip crooks, and a nollie tre thats soo perfect. This guy could be the next big thing, and watch out as he may be your new favorite skater. The westside warriors come through with a good mix of skating.Brian Downey is soooooo sick, theres new tyrone olson footy, and nick matlin and mike rosa end it with style and finese.Nicks blunt pop out is sick and mike rosas pop shove closes it.

Mike Petersons part is good but if you have seen the consolidated video you have already seen it.Its pretty much the same part with a different song but its still good to watch because mike just rips.Josh Hawkins probally has my favorite part.He skates spots different then most would skate, good selection of tricks, front boards the staples center ledge, and owns the nollie 360 shove and does it good.

The yellow skateboards section is really good as well.Brian Downey once again kills it,johan stuckey kickflip fs smiths hubba, new john buchannan, lucian moon, and ryan nix footy(enough said),adam crew is good at skateboarding, really good, and mike espinosa goes big, really big.Dave Abair closes the section with really good nollie tre flips, very creative and is very underated.Micah Hollinger closes it with a very creative part.Hes been around for awile and he skates like noone else, and his ender you have to see to believe.

The new 411 is definitly good and hey its free so why not check it out.

Consolidated Skateboards: Goin' Bananas

goin_bananas.jpg

This is the new consolidated video and its everything you would expect from consolidated and maybe even a little more.

The team has changed alot and has a pretty good mix of new riders with the exception of consolidted legends such as karma, alan peterson and a few others. The video is filled with amazing skateboarding, hilarious skits,an intro that i cant get enough of, and a really good friends section with footage from dollin, dompierre and many others.

My top 5 parts go to mike peterson, kyle berard(does a music video to electric light orchestra),roberto aleman, tanner zelenski, and unknown ripper(well know hes known)ben raemers.

This is probally the best consolidated video to date and its just a good video to watch before you skate-TWO THUMBS UP

Transworld presents: Lets Do This!

Lets do this!

First off you know this video is gonna be good, Transworld put it out.

Everyone has really good parts and the mix of skaters made this one of my favorite transworld videos. Clint Peterson comes through with his creative lines, perfect 360s and a gnarly 50-50 to end it.

Brian Brown definitely had my favorite part (I could watch him do a flatground ollie and be amazed) such good style, he can skate anything that's put in front of him.

Once again transworld puts out an amzing montage with a beginner and ender that blew my mind. Peter Smolik's part was most anticipated for sure. He comes through with his crazy tech skills, creativity and watch as he throws down some sick tricks off of a rock you gotta see to believe.

Devine Calloway is amazing and does everything perfect and with soo much style. Big spin tailslides and switch nosegrind bigspins in lines, and his switch biggie down carlsbad is too perfect. Eman Guzman definitly has the gnarliest part for sure and he can big and skates soo fast he gives bussinitz a run for his money.

Great video+great line up = Lets do this! ... check it out. [Transworld link]
