Dew drops Baltimore as city loses its Charm

Dew and Baltimore are parting ways. B-more joins Cleveland, Louisville and others as Dew looks for dollars in other action sports markets. In this Dear John letter Dew tells Charm City it's lost it's charm.

Dear Baltimore,
I am sorry to have to tell you this in a press release but it’s time to part ways. I know we just signed a three year deal, but it is something I must do. You must have seen this coming though. Lately I have been messing around with other cities, you know I like to experiment. But Breck, treated me great, and well…….. Boston well, ok I am just going to come out and just say it.
I just need something bigger
.
I need a larger market. It’s what every mega media corporation wants. You are a wonderful, wonderful city and should hold your head high. But when it comes down to it size matters. You brought 52,000+ people both years even though you are a second tier city. That was good enough for me when we got together. I liked you because you liked me for who I was. You knew my history of city hopping but did not mind. You knew about Louisville and the other cities. I know you have been hurt before like when the Colts left you for Indy, but look you moved on and got the Ravens. You will move on again. It is my fault and I want to try new things. We can be professionals about this. We can still be friends. You can have Bucky Lasek, Rodney Jones, Gumbie and all of your favorite sons. I hope you will give them visitation rights to my other cities. I don’t want any thing from you. I am who I am, a city hopper, a dysfunctional action sports flavor of the month tour, when the economy is down and major sponsors are bailing because my business model is not working, a deserter. So don’t blame yourself. It’s all my fault……..

Love always
Dew
