Feels Like the First Time

Time is a powerful thing when it comes to the mind. It can effect your perception and your even alter your recollections. It can change the way you look at things. Remember the first time you learned a kick flip. It felt so good. Every chance you got you did one. Off a curb, over a gap, over a hip, that kick flip was your go to trick.

What to you think of that kick flip now? Probably last compared to a laser heel and a big spin flip and all the other bangers in your bag of tricks.

I’m on the plane flying out to Orlando, for another AST Dew Tour contest. It reminds me of that kick flip. How you’re thinking? This guy’s reaching. The first Dew I went to was in my home town and was so much fun. I have been to everyone since that first one (expect for when my son was born). Back to the Banks, Tampa Pro, Maloof, Manny Mania all better by far. But every AST contest has amazing skating and it is never a let down. From late night practice sessions to demos out side the scheduled event. Good friends, great parties, I love it.
Maybe I have been drinking to much of the Kool Aid….ah Mountain Dew. It could be that I have missed the last one, but it feels like the first time.
